Group Accountant (Commodity Trading/Maritime)
Our client is a leading European ship owner/operator who have their Group office in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precisely prepare and record journal entries for shipping voyages relating to period end closing and adjustments where necessary.
- Reconcile and review voyage-related accounts.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve any accounting issues to ensure accuracy.
- Manage reconciliations of intercompany accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
- Collaborate closely with various teams to facilitate smooth operations and effective communication.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 6-8 years of related experience in commodity trading, shipping or the maritime industry.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
