Are you someone with prior experience in vessel operations for Container ships or PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) / RORO vessels?

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading shipping liner in their commercial operations teams in Singapore.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Vessel Operations:

Plan and oversee the daily operations of container vessels. Monitor vessel schedules and ensure timely arrivals and departures. Coordinate with port authorities, terminals, and agents for berth allocations and cargo operations. Ensure efficient stowage planning and cargo handling to optimize vessel capacity and minimize port stay.

• Cargo Management:

Oversee the loading and unloading of containers. Ensure proper documentation for cargo, including Bills of Lading, manifests, and customs documents. Manage any cargo-related issues such as damage, loss, or discrepancies.

• Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM Code. Implement and maintain safety protocols for vessel operations.

• Communication and Coordination:

Maintain clear communication with the vessel's master and crew regarding operational plans and requirements. Liaise with customers, shippers, and consignees to ensure smooth cargo operations. Coordinate with internal departments, including logistics, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.

• Performance Monitoring:

Monitor vessel performance and fuel consumption. Analyze operational data and provide reports on vessel efficiency and productivity. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in vessel operations or a similar role in the maritime industry.

• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and industry standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficiency in relevant software and systems used in vessel operations.
