Overview:

We are seeking an experienced QHSE Superintendent with a strong maritime background, specifically looking for candidates with experience as Masters on tanker vessels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental management across our tanker fleet, promoting a culture of safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement in our QHSE practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies and procedures tailored for tanker vessels, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of vessels to verify compliance with international maritime regulations and company QHSE policies.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing comprehensive reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and guidance to vessel crews on QHSE standards, emergency procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze QHSE performance metrics, preparing reports for management and recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Support vessel management in risk assessment processes, ensuring all potential hazards are identified and mitigated effectively.
  • Coordinate and facilitate emergency response drills and safety meetings to enhance preparedness and compliance across the fleet.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to QHSE to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Master with a valid CoC and experience on tanker vessels.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a QHSE role within the maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (ISM Code, ISPS Code, MARPOL, etc.) and safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
