Commercial Finance Manager (FMCG)
Our client is a global leader in the energy drinks category and is expanding its presence in APAC with a growing office in Singapore.
Reporting into the APAC Finance Director based in Singapore your roles and responsibilities will be as below:
• Business partnering
o Work with sales and marketing teams to identify key market, customer and brand performance trends and develop plans to mitigate any risks.
o Provide ad hoc information, insights and support on performance as required
o Ensure trade and brand investments are planned and controlled in line with budget targets
o Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in generating, developing and executing significant new growth platforms
o Drive an ROI mindset and capability within the International business through:
? Aligning financial performance metrics to key initiatives to create an understanding of planned return
? Provide robust plan vs actual assessment to ensure actual ROI is understood
? Embed and drive “plan, do, review, learn” rhythms.
• Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
o Support the development and completion of the budget and monthly rolling forecasts, ensure submissions reflect most likely outcome.
o Ensure consistent and logical assumptions are used in the planning processes.
o Ensure all deadlines are met and tasks completed in a robust manner.
o Identify and drive plans to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks as they evolve through the year.
• Insights
o Perform market / brand / price analysis as required to identify risks and opportunities to strategy execution and against competitive set
o Develop and support sales with recommendations (portfolio, promotion, pricing) to address the risks and opportunities identified.
o Drive analyst and sharing of post promotional reviews.
• Reporting
o Complete all monthly closing and reporting requirements in an accurate, robust, practical and timely manner.
o Analysis of actual performance focusing on key performance drivers.
o Support governance and risk management processes across the international business unit
Key Challenges in Achieving Goal(s):
• Influencing multiple stakeholders in setting and implementing strategy
• Managing cross functional processes.
• Providing accurate information (actual, budget, forecast)) and timely commercial support within short deadlines.
• Driving an ROI mindset.
• Providing robust market and brand analysis with less than perfect data.
• Providing timely support and challenge on pricing and revenue management proposals, and act as gate keeper when required.
Key Decision Making in this Role:
• Provide commercial and financial expertise and insights to the sales and marketing teams and play a key role in the decision-making process.
• Management of investment expenditure (D&R, A&P), including ROI analysis and recommendations to improve spend effectiveness in the future.
• Identify and drive plans to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks as they evolve through the year.
• Support the delivery of Annual Budgeting and monthly rolling Forecast processes.
• Support strategic growth projects as required.
Experience:
• 8+ years of financial and commercial experience within a major FMCG company in a regional role with strong business partner aspects to your experiences.
