Finance Manager (Commodity Trading)

Our client is a UK headquartered, reputed trading company with a significant presence in Singapore. They are seeking a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role reports to the Group Financial Controller.

Depending on level of experience, this could also be Senior Manager role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the finance functions for the main trading entity and regional subsidiaries of the Group.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Senior/Accounts Executives and Senior/Invoicing Assistants based across APAC.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual financial statements for the assigned entities.
  • Act as the primary contact for statutory and internal audits.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure prompt supplier payments.
  • Handle credit line submissions for bank financing facilities.
  • Maintain banking relationships in collaboration with the Treasury team.
  • Partner with Traders, Credit, and Legal teams to provide necessary support.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports and analysis for senior management.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in finance roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in the maritime or trading industry is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor finance teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.
