Finance Manager (Commodity Trading)
Our client is a UK headquartered, reputed trading company with a significant presence in Singapore. They are seeking a Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. This role reports to the Group Financial Controller.
Depending on level of experience, this could also be Senior Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the finance functions for the main trading entity and regional subsidiaries of the Group.
- Lead and mentor a team of Senior/Accounts Executives and Senior/Invoicing Assistants based across APAC.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and reports.
- Oversee the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare annual financial statements for the assigned entities.
- Act as the primary contact for statutory and internal audits.
- Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow to ensure prompt supplier payments.
- Handle credit line submissions for bank financing facilities.
- Maintain banking relationships in collaboration with the Treasury team.
- Partner with Traders, Credit, and Legal teams to provide necessary support.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Deliver ad-hoc reports and analysis for senior management.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5–7+ years of experience in finance roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in the maritime or trading industry is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor finance teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.
