Group Consolidation Manager (7K+ AWS)

Our client is a leading medical device brand, with their global HQ in Singapore. This role involves oversight of the global accounting consolidation process, producing quarterly consolidated financial statements for the Group, and supporting the corporate annual audit process. This role will report to the Head of Accounting (Japan).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the monthly consolidated financial closing for a group of entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards. This includes monitoring and reviewing consolidation packages from all subsidiaries across various countries.
  • Lead a team of 2 in the monthly and quarterly financial consolidations, interacting with external CPA providers, regional accounting teams, and collaborating with FP&A, Sales, Customer Care, Operations, and SCM teams.
  • Drive strategic accounting projects, such as the implementation of a new consolidation system and improvements in accounting processes, including intercompany transactions and inventory profit eliminations. Write and update group accounting policies and act as the technical accounting resource.
  • Prepare timely monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements according to IFRS for executive reporting, and annual financial statements, including footnotes for audit purposes.
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and manage annual audits in collaboration with external auditors.

Inherent Requirements:

  • Decision-Making Accountability: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by managing the consolidation process, making decisions that ensure compliance and integrity.
  • Professional Certification: ACCA, CPA, CA Certification.
  • Formal Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA, CA, or a related field.

  • Deep understanding of IFRS accounting rules, including purchase price allocation and its impact on consolidation, statutory reporting, and management reporting.
  • Ability to analyze and recommend best practices for accounting and consolidation with a comprehensive understanding of reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software functionalities, enabling efficient statutory accounting and consolidation.
  • Strong IT knowledge and collaboration skills for successful implementation of consolidation software.
  • Expertise in business process transformation and change management.
  • Effective cross-cultural communication skills for fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Competence in project risk management, with the ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.

Experience:

  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms, preferably at an Assistant Manager or Manager level.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and Mandarin is a plus.
  • Experience with financial consolidation software like Hyperion or OneStream and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Extensive experience in financial closing at both legal entity and group levels, with a solid understanding of global IFRS practices.
  • Proven experience in accounting system implementations and performing consolidation for multinational companies.
  • At least 8-10 years in CPA firms, reaching Manager or Senior Manager level, with a strong accounting technical foundation.
  • Familiarity with consolidation software and prior collaboration with IT for finance function projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage business process transformations and change initiatives, with excellent cross-functional leadership skills.
